Push down to 6 1x -> Entertainment (top row)
Push down to 6 1x -> Entertainment Source (second row)
Push down to 6 1x -> Entertainment, say CD dial where you can change track
Push down to 6 3x -> You change video source

So there are a total of six 6 o'clock push-downs, right?
It should be called 6 o'clock 6x or 6-6, then.
That's what I'm thinking too. Which is why I was wondering why we can't cut down on the number of times we have to push in that last step.

this is crazy, i just want a tv unit that i can hook up to my i drive and use from there. When you guys talk about 6 oclock, i understand that you mean clicking down, but its so confusing, im sure there is a much easier way of explaining this because I know that I am the only one that is confused.

Hi
I sent it to the E90 member, lets make sure it picks up the I-drive comands and changes video sources. We then can see what we can do about the rest of the details of making it easier. 1 step at a time.

Thanks Dominic

Hi Everyone
Hope all is well. For any member that doesn't care about the I-Drive control unit, you can always use it with the remote the way we have been for the past 2 years.

Thanks Dominic www.TVandNav2Go.com

But my 100K E60 isn't able to do that...
Sure it is. I posted the two parts you need earlier. However, for us Americans, we have to go through this unofficial method.
BMW AG puts out a 58 page catalog with official BMW "after-market" parts, gimmicks etc etc. The bestellnummer ist: 01 25 0 411 013 K, VT-A-4. The catalog comes with a separate price list. I got mine at BMW Niederlassung Munchen (at Frankfurter Ring 35). Phone: 089 / 35 35 - 10.

Talking

Hi Everyone
Hope all is well. Spoke with the engineer again about the situation. There is a corection to what I said.
This should make matters a little better.

6-3 : pull I Drive to 6 o?clock and push to right(3 o?clock)
3-1 : push to right only one time(3 o?clock)
11-1 : push to up left one time (11 o?clock)

The 6-3 model in NOT 6 o'clock 3X's it is pull I Drive to 6 o?clock and push to right(3 o?clock)

Thanks Dominic www.TVandNav2Go.com

So how would the 3-1 work, because 3 oclock 1 time is OBC... The only choice for us would be the 6-3 unit and for the 7ers would be the 11-1 push? Can you clarify which are the choices for our 5 series?

Sorry Dominic, but that doesn't make sense.
If you pull the Idrive controller to 6 you are in the entertainment menu. The top row (menu) is selected. If you then push the controller to 3 you enter the small split screen!!!
So... does it mean you are losing the ability to enter the split screen from the nav menu?

This has been in the catalog for ever, since day one! But the parts were n/a. They just became available and you still can't order it from factory and have to retrofit it.

I think lets just stop asking how this works and wait for someone to actually install, try it and then feed bacl.
