Please let me know if there are any mistakes and for those that haven't said what kind of Nav and idrive you have please do. Also for those that are listed as interested please let me know if you want be added or not because technically you are not right now. 2.) Heiss5 ? ProNav with 8-way idrive
3.) shield - No Nav with 4-way idrive
4.) houbmw ? No Nav with 4-way idrive
5.) bruce_miranda - ProNav with 8-way idrive
6.) Alex.br - ProNav with 8 way idrive
7.) CAL-E60

22.) albloushi (interested/waiting for his response)
23.) gpt (interested/waiting for his response)
24.) DBU (interested/waiting for his response)

my530i, do you want me to add you to the list too?
I think most of the "8-way and 4-way" classifications above are wrong. USA spec E60s ALL have 4-way iDrive. Seems like the 8-way apply to the 7-series only. I am still on the fence and really need to hear back from the test case - hopefully with some good DIY pictures and "idiot proof" instructions. I gather that the magic box normally goes in behind the iDrive screen, but why not put everything in the trunk where we have power and simply run wires up forward? I prefer a trunk rattle to a iDrive screen rattle down the line...

Dom, sorry for the off topic. We ordered a new Toyota Camry, 2007 model fully loaded. I need to know if you have anything to allow video in motion, it has DVD, TV tuner, Backup Cam, Nav, all there, just need video in motion. In the older camrys, it was as easy as cutting a few wires, but I'm not sure about this one, as the last guy who worked on my car and told me not to buy extra parts and cut a few wires (sorry to say) has passed away. Please let me know if its possible for video in motion.

Sure thing, we're up to 7 now. All we need is 3 more people.

Umm... As I understand it, 6:3 means, you push the iDrive down to the 6 oclock position (downwards -> ENTERTAINMENT) 3 times to change from iDrive to the unit, then every click down goes through all the video sources one by one. Same applies to the 3:1, push the iDrive controller to the 3oclock position (to the right -> OBC) once. The unit is 485 + Shipping. The unit provides 3 video source, V1 and V2 for any video input you can put, and V3 is the back up cam which turns on automatically when you put your car on Reverse. This unit just provides video input, if you want DVD, you'll have to get a changer or some kind of DVD player. Lastly, I'm sure you install a second screen if you needed.

Hope I helped you a little bit, I have no experience with this interface whatsoever, but I've read a lot about it and really looking forward for it to arrive. Regards...

I'll have to wait for someone to actually use this in an E60 with MP3 and Pro Nav. I tried to see what it would feel like today and if I go 3 steps down in the 6 Oclock position I get to the MP3 song selection.

This is just a guess, but I'm better that under entertainment you are on CD. You're going to want to put it to AUX since that way you'll get audio. And I'm betting that when you're on AUX 3 steps down wont do anything.
