Hello Rumman,

You did a great job, it seems quite simpel to do that, for me
but you did spent a lot of time to find it out.
And the stock of my suplier going getting empty

Regards,
530dA
Hey Seydi,

I would have done it earlier but I did not have a car. You see: no car=no diy

I picked up my car at 6pm Friday and in the first 24 hours, I took it completely apart.

Again a thank you to the supplier - the paint job is very very good!

see you

Rumman

Great job!!!

I am glad to see you pulled it off (not that I had any doubts )

And that is what I call a perfect DIY. Now everybody with a LCI can do it.
You gave them the opertunity to get the M5 mirrors for a great price, since the LCI versions are hard to find on Ebay etc.

Guys,

here you go. Here is the DIY!

Sorry for taking this long. But I had to figure out which pics to take - my g/f took 433 pics in those 3 hours

To the mirrors themselves:
- colours match perfectly! Great job 530dA, sorry I mean your supplier
- auto dip works, electric mirrors work, and I assume heating mirrors also work
- i dont have the options on my car to check if paddle lights/autofold/ec mirrors work but if you read my DIY you will see why this should work.

As to the mod itself - would i do it? Yes I would. It looks great. Obviously a plug/play would be to take LCI mirrors but considering the amount i save if I had bought it from the dealer (1200 EUR MORE than what we paid for this group buy), I am happy with the extra bit of work...

One more thing: guys - you are old enough to be held responsible for what you do, so don't hold anything against me This dyi is just a fyi.

thanks

Rumman

Hey Rumman,

This a very impressive piece of work.... very neat and professional... great presetation skills

thank you for the compliments. Although it looks like I did all the work on my own, I had my better half actually help me. Not only did she get me the tools on demand, she also made the 400+ photos...

it is one of those things - bmw should have come up with these mirrors in the first place instead of those of retangular ugly ones

see you...

Ok so now i'm kinda sure it all will work; so could you give me a (groupbuy) quote for:

LCI fitting M5 mirrors, with EC glass, painted Carbon Black and following functions to work properly:
electric folding (and tilt in reverse), puddle lights, heated, memory function,...

Thanks

Congrats about your new m5 mirrors and the DIY install!! I just wonder if any of you guys ran into what I did installing mine when removing our e60 door panels? If so, what did you do if you set off your side air bags activation light? By any chance did you have the BMW code, or the right equipment and know the satellite system for our e60 front side airbags, in order to reset it?

Thanks in advance...

Who said i set off the activation light??

no 1: disconnect the battery so therefore there should be no probs with the airbag
no 2: you dont have to open the entire trim

check out my diy. that should help you further...
