The car seems to have a more eager feel to it, it feels smoother and more responsive too! It's not a huge difference at low speeds (predictably), it has the feel of driving away after doing the 25 second transmission reset, in that it just goes MUCH more smoothly! As the RPM's start to climb, it feels stronger, and for $100, it's a GREAT mod!! For those on the fence.......JUST DO IT ALREADY!!
+1 I finally had an excuse to take her on the freeway today on my way to TexaZ3's house. As others have mentioned, you really feel it pull more on the higher speeds (60+) and rpms. Love it, and wouldn't have it any other way For those still thinking about it, go get it already

My Ride: A Car faster than yours.....

Hi guys, here are the dyno results from todays dyno runs.

http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=63222

As mentioned in the other thread. I ran and ran the car and with the scoop, it just wouldnt make anymore than 2-3whp and 3wtq. I am tweaking the design on the 550 scoop and everyone who has ordered already will receive a FREE replacement. Our goal is to see a minimum of 5whp at 70mph winds. For those of you who have the "other" intake.....sorry.

Do we need to send out our old ones (550i version) to get the replacement? It'd be bothersome to do...

Installed .

From RPI's DIY

GB: RPI scoop for 545i, 550i (pre and LCI models)-img_00033.jpg
Moved closer to the opening for smoother air flow.
I also glued a small block of hard foam behind for additional support(not shown).
