Count me in as being 100% serious with buying this part. But I wonder why the supercharger for the E46 330 is a lot cheaper when we have the same EXACT engine. Why is it that we cant buy the E46 charger? This may be a dumb question I dont know.

I was wondering the same thing...wondering if it might have to do with the configuration of everything under the hood...probably some differences between an e46 and an e60.
FYI, I did contact Active Autowerke and asked them if their SC kit for a 330i (8 psi) can be fitted on a 530i, and they said yes, it bolts right up, and have already installed them on several 5-series. Their quote was $4400.

Much cheaper..Are the performance upgrades the same between the 2 superchargers?

ESS TS2 is twin screw with an intercooler, at $7995. AA is not twin screw and no intercooler at $4400...that's where the price difference comes in. Both provide 8 psi. Those are the list prices on the websites, I'm sure with a group buy we could get them to come down.
So the question is, do the twin screw and intercooler justify spending almost twice as much?

Yeah, I kind of agree...the ESS is no doubt a better SC than the AA, but $4000 better? AA is also well reviewed on some other BMW forums, and sponsors a few forums as well...fairly well known in the community.

Okay, so is anyone else interested in pursuing a group buy for the AA supercharger?
List is $4400 before any discounts...might be able to get them below $4k with enough people...
Let me know if there's interest and I'll approach Active Autowerke and see if they can give us a deal.
