PS - The splitter holds up well, if you end up "splitting" it, as you're pulling your car out of your driveway.

I'm sure it's been asked before, but how does the splitter attach? Is drilling necessary? In other words, any obvious holes after removal for lease return?

Yes, you drill underneath. There are holes, but easy to plug and fill upon return. Trust me...I'm about to return mine and will be plugging those holes.
