Default Noob looking for a 530

hi all, I'm enjoying ourX5, although it's mostly driven by my wife, and have decided to look for a 530 for my next daily driver. I've been looking at the 2024s since the 2025 is really bigger than I want. Any suggestions for what to look for or what to avoid in a 2024 model? Also please feel free to answer questions I don't know enough to ask. Thanks very much.

2024 is when they changed the size so both years are the same. Personally I'd go for the 540i as the B48 lacks power. If looking at a 2024 ensure you're getting every factory option that you want as it gets harder to retrofit options due to secure coding and component protection. The G30 with the B58 is a solid car and you can't go wrong with purchasing. The B48 is good but has a common failure on the oil filter housing but overall just lacks power and most regret it after buying.

Thank you for straightening me out on the model years -- I will be looking for a 2023 to stay with the smaller car, and good advice on the options. Any comments on the 2023s? Power is not a big concern. I won't be tracking the thing and need to stay out of trouble on the public roads.

I have a 22 and love it. The only thing I don't like about it is the start/stop feature. It gets annoying and can't be coded out like the pre-LCI version. As long as you stay away from the 20-21 versions you'll be fine. Those years are the COVID models and it's like playing Russian roulette with the available options during that time. Something as simple as having CarPlay or touch screen was sparingly available those years. No matter what you choose BMW is going to have the BMW typical issues.
