I was recently told at a club meeting that it is necessary to change oil immediately after using Techron Fuel Injector Cleaner in the gas tank....huh? Anyone head of doing this and why? Thank.

 

The theory is that Techron is a fuel detergent, and it will cause a little bit of fuel contamination with the oil causing the oil to be contaminated with fuel. I used to use Techron in my E30, and I would always time my Techron use with an upcoming oil change. If you are due for an oil change then your concerns are moot; if you just changed your oil, I wouldn't worry about it.
