Armored cars are on the move right now. After Mercedes revealed their new Mercedes Benz S-Class Guard, BMW closely followed with the introduction of the mighty BMW X5 Security Plus. Both cars are armored, both are equipped with state-of-the-art technology for repelling ballistics attacks and both are powered by powerful and large engines which provide them with the oomph to get out of the trouble as soon as possible. Despite being two of the Germany’s most competent car manufacturers, Mercedes and BMW live somewhat different lives on the market. The same goes for their armoured vehicles, which are as different as you possibly can imagine.
While Benz built a car for the wealthiest and most dangerous dictators all over the world, Beemer took a somewhat different path. First of all, the new BMW armoured vehicle is based upon the BMW X5 xDrive50i. The vehicle itself is enough impressive, but to be bulletproof, BMW had to reinforce practically every bit of the car.
