It's something like the cupholders in the E60/E61: they were cheap in the option list, but almost impossible or at least very expensive to retrofit.
A cupholder is quite a different "cup of tea" from an internet function but they are both cheap options that should have been standard equipment in the first place.
Apart from that discussion, even if it takes some time before it will be functional. You ordered it so you don't have to bother about retrofits etc.
I guess it will be activated after the March update.

Good news from the cupholders;
Not only are they free in the F10 but they are much more useable then they were in the E60.

Could not afford full spec....
I ordered some extra's to compensate myself on the 4 cilinder engine, but skipped on the active steering, adaptive drive etc.
