Not sure if you guys have read about it but just wanted to share it:

"Just a few days after the BMW?s official launch, TeamSpeed reported that the 2012 BMW M5 has just become the fastest sedan around the Nurburgring race track with an impressive time of 7:55. With this new time, the M5 will be placed above models like the Porsche Panamera Turbo (7:56) and the Cadillac CTS-V (7:59). This new lap time also matches the ?Ring time of the Ferrari F430.

The record lap was completed by a BMW driver, but don?t put it in the record books just yet. This is actually an unofficial time, surely to be followed by the real thing shortly."

It's a great time, but it's still an unverified internet rumor. That said, it's probably accurate. Looking forward to the new M5, it's going to be something special. The Panamera Turbo S though is sure to knock more than a second off the time set by the Panamera Turbo so it's going to be interesting to see how things pan out. Great time to be in the market for an uber sedan!

They'd better hurry and get an official time, because the Panny Turbo S is going to post a quicker time. For sure it's more than 1 sec quicker than the standard turbo. You'd need to get something for that extra $40K.

Regardless of the outcome the new M5 is pretty much on the top.. It seems that the new M5 isn't a disappointment after all.. It still not thrilled with the body style.

Maybe the new F06 6-series Gran Coupe does it with the styling, but the speed?

It isn't since:
1.The time isn't official;
2.There's Porsche Panamera Turbo S, which is like Nissan GTR compared to the M5.

Pity but a fact.

You do know you just made a dumb statement with #2.

Do you even know what Nissan GTR can accomplish on the ring?

If you took it directly, yes. But you failed to understand what I meant. I wanted to say that the Panamera Turbo S is much faster than the M5. It's like night and day in favour of Porsche. That was my point.
