Got these off another site. Granted the Caddy is a manual and hard as shit to launch, the new M5 is FAAAST.

I would suggest that will no longer be the case... with the new twin turbo engine, an increase of 100-125 rwhp shouldnt be much more than a tune on the M5.

Most tuners find that reasonable mods (pully, tune, etc) on the V can achieve about 600 RWHP before the internals or tranny need to be worked on. There are many out there approaching 1000 RWHP after fully replacing the engine, but at that point, it really inst comparable.

the major difference between the two cars, stock for stock, will be base price. I dont know that Ive seen the price for the new M5 yet, but I bet its around 90,000. The V starts at 64+ but after adding the good seats, sunroof and a couple things to bridge the "niceness" gap, its north of 73.

Now, having owned many bmws and a new CTSV, I can tell you that for me, 17,000 is NOTHING that would make me steer toward the V. The tranny, differential, materials in the interior, electronics and launch control on the M5 cannot be duplicated for any price in the Cadillac.

The UK base price for the M5 is £73040 ( including 20% VAT ).Converting the pre-VAT price gives around $96500.

The new M5 already has a tune from a European tuner that turns out 620HP and 553 LbFt - and that is with a stage 1 tune. It's great that BMW is putting the Caddy back into the domain of retirees, pimps and rappers.
Don "the magic" Juan would even enjoy the new M5 more
