I don't see why a properly done vinyl wrap would not last on the door handles. Maybe if you have it put on poorly, but if they are done professionally, I'm guessing they'll be just fine.
IMHO would be a nice touch to have the door handle trim match the window trim.
BTW you know, I'm not sure if I'd do it on my car - possibly - but a friend of mine did this to his OEM M3 kidney grilles. He took the original chrome trims and sanded them down to look like brushed metal. Again, maybe it is just my opinion, but I think it looks great. The trick is to sand in the same direction, so that it looks machined. And hey, you already have everything you need for that - just need some sand paper. Start with rougher and work your way to finer grit. I'd go from like 60 to 100, then some 200 or 300 and up to the 600. Maybe even find a satin clear coat to protect the trim from elements better. Would be a nice DIY too heh

yeah i for one and am just not understanding the infatuation with shadowline trim. it's such a minute difference that i hardly think it's worth the effort to change. that being said, the chrome door handles would have to go if you were going to do it.

Keep the chrome. Contrast is what makes the curves stand out and highlight the lines. Even black and white pictures need the different tones of gray (contrast) to make it aesthetically pleasing. Black already hides most of the curves and lines of the car, you need some chrome contrast to accentuate the lines.
Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it's your car so do whatever you want.
