Upgrade hifi system
Hey guys. I recently had an e60 with hifi sound system. I had upgraded by adding an aftermarket amp and four interior speakers. It sounded amazing, the only downfall was that it made the annoying "gong" sound much louder. You can imagine how scared I got everytime the low fuel or no seatbelt gong alerted me lol. I just purchased an f10 with hifi and would like to do the same and replace interior speakers an add an amplifier. Would the gong sound on this car also get louder? I noticed there is a setting in the Idrive to make the gong sound lower but not sure how this would turn out for me...any thoughts?

It just makes it louder or softer in relation to everything else.

I have the Hi-Fi Professional sound sytem in my F10. With its 600 W, sourrond and 16 speakers (with two subs) it sounds just great. Anything else in a F10 is underrated the car.

Exactly, I've got the standard hifi system and it definitely isn't enough.. Basically what I'm asking is.. Is there a way to keep the gong volume low while upgrading the speakers to make them louder

I think you can set the loudness of the gong in the Settings>Sound menu. There are settings whereby you can adjust the loudness of the PDC, Gong, etc.

I went through all the hi-fi upgrade brain damage in my E60 as well. Happy to say, the HK system in my F10 is beyond adequate, and I plan to do exactly nothing to it.
