Has anyone heard anything about the possibility of delaying the launch of the new 5 series? The auto industry is being hit pretty hard, as are most industries. I wouldn't be surprised if carmakers, BMW included, delay the lauch of some new cars.

Doubtful.
What would that buy them?
I believe BMW is currently and has been ramping down production
due to the global slowdown, so I don't foresee excess inventory.
Most they will do is move the U.S. release date out to late September 2010,
as opposed to early/mid summertime.

My Ride: 2011, X6 Hybrid . Alpine White , every option. 20" Conti' NON runflats,OEM trunk spoiler , LUX V3 AE's , HP Thunder Fogs , custom front bumper reflector delete........
I anything this might get them motivated to launch early but I 'm sure they'll stick to the plan. Depleting existing compoments for the E60 will be the focus of the next year while they gear up for production. If anything we'll see some aggressive programs to move existing units if they are already produced.

are in EU or US? Doubt it will come out that soon...as it hasn't even debut'd at any car shows...geneva, LA, detroit...
For a car that has yet to be debuted, it's not coming out in a month or so... I might be wrong, but I think we'll see actual pictures before we see it in the showrooms...

The 2011 will be the first year of the new 5 Series (the F10). Everything I read is that the F10 will debut in 2011.
I was coming off a lease so I could wait. I got the 2009 550i Sport from dealer stock, as opposed to waiting a one or so for the 2010, to take advantage of the $2500 rebate and strong lease terms (low money factor and high residual).
