Default Soft-close doors, kind of not working

Hi all,

After a long day of cleaning/decom/polishing the F11 in readiness to advertise for sale, I've noticed that the driver door "hesitates" to engage the soft-close door mechanism. Normally, you get a "two-part motor sound". I think the first part/sound engages the pawl latch, not sure what the second sound does but at this point, it the door usually rocks back slightly to a rest. Instead, I just get the first sound and the door pulls shut, and then a one second delay before the second sound and the door settles. Same again for when opening the door, you should hear a motor sound as you pull the interior handle open, but I don't hear this at all now. The other three doors are fine and makes the sound when the door opens, as if the motor releases the latch.

*** However, if I leave the door OPENED and close the door latch with my finger, the mechanism and two-part motor sound occurs and sounds as normal. ***

There are no error codes available in FRM or JBE, and I have tried resetting both modules, and tried other suggestions like opening the outside and inside handle simultanously. The only thing I haven't tries is resetting/disconnecting the battery. Otherwise the door does lock and unlock successfully, just no longer as expected. I'm concerned if the actuator is on its way out. Any suggestions welcome.

Yeah its probably just starting to fail. That's the most used door and so makes sense it would go sooner than the others.

Thanks for that - not the news I wanted to hear prior to selling though! I've noticed that there are very few driver's side actuators on used market, any reason why (RHD)? If there are, they tend to cost much more in the region of £300/$350.

Also, there seems to be two parts to this device, the latch itself and another piece held on by the bowden cable and another cable. Does anyone know if the latch part is just mechanical and the other the "brains" or actuator?
