Last year I had a problem with a cigarett lighter socket so I went to an official customer service center near my home.
Next day, my right side rear door lock starts open and lock repeatedly around ten times when I go close to a gas tank.

I went back to the center and they said they just changed the fuse of cigarett lighter and it is not their fault.
Anyhow I came back and I did not go to the gas tank with my key, funny huh.
It was tired with the malfuntion and I went back last winter and the engineer said there is malfuntion with right side door handles.
He said it takes more than 1k$ each and just drive it.

A month ago battery drain signal showed up every day and I changed the battery.
The guys who changed the battery has a scanner and it said right side door handle malfuntions.

What should I do?
Do I need to ask the center guys to check all the fuses or replace the door handles?
I think even I change the parts that doen't solve the problem.

So Stressed.

 

What did the $1k fix entail, just replacing the door handles or?

 

I think the guys in the service center think not only handle problem but also locking system should be changed. Also, receiving the parts takes a lot of time from Germany cuz I live in South Korea. I really do not want to be ripped off. I found some thread says taking out the fuse worked so I will try it.

 

Was it both door handles or just one? You'd definitely benefit from having your own BMW code reader.

 

The reader said right side both door handles have problem.

 

For both handles to go out at the same time, I highly doubt that is factual unless you have a lot of bad luck. You can start pulling fuses to isolate. Can I assume that you have comfort access?

 

Yes, mine is 528i 2014, CA handles. I will check the whole fuse box and leave the comment.

 

Its interesting how you say it occurs when you're near the tank, because the diversity antenna is right there, and it could possibly be noisy.

 

Guys, the mechanic in the service center pulled out of the CA cables and the problem dissapeared. I cannot use comfort access on the right side of doors but LED lights is working and no more stress from the battery drain. Thank you all.
