I can definitely confirm X-Drive approximately 5 -6 months after first 5 Series delivery in US. First US cars May - June. 70% of Midwest US 2009 - 2010 5 Series delivery had x-Drive and Nav. Not sure if that's way dealers ordered stock or were way customers also ordered cars. These were features I would likely have left off?

Yep, saw that as well. Interesting that you'll be able to get the 550i with xDrive. Wonder if you can still get the sport auto transmission. I'm sure there will be some features that you can't get just like before.

I agree that there may be options that you can't get if you go xDrive (like there is now with the X version of the E60) but then again, maybe they were able to design things from the ground up with xDrive and remove some of the limitations?

Either way, I don't forsee an xDrive car in my immediate future...

I wish I could say the same, but given the northwest winters it's a must have when you live above the 500 foot elevation.
