I drove a 528 and it was just "okay". When you get out of a 528 and test a 535, then the 528 feels pretty slow.
Of course these tests were in Germany (US spec cars) and you can really use the 535. In the USA, I think I'd stick with a 528 to save the money. The speed limit here is 70 (Florida) and it is enforced by police cars with radar guns. I must say that the 535 on the autobahn is an absolute beast of car. The acceleration and power was mind boggling. I can't imagine what a 550 would be like. The 535 felt faster than my 2008 Audi TT 3.2.
Plus I read here that BMW was dropping the non turbo I6 for 2012 and giving us a turbo 4.
Hopefully we will move back to Germany in one or two years so we can buy a German spec F11 530d X Drive. It will be expensive but that is my dream car.

Dear Stu3,
A "i" BMW means a gasoline engine, the BMW "d" stands for diesel.
All new BMW diesels have turbos and soon also all "i" versions.
But the MY '12 F10 530i, that replaces the F10 528i, is having an old engine without any turbo, more or less the same engine as in the MY '11 F10 528i.
For relatively high milage go for the MY '12 F10 535i, it has the turbo and is fast enough for US highways.
The max speed today is in Florida (70) see this and in Illinois (65) see this.
So for what do you need cars with top speed restricted to 250 km/h (about 160 mph)
