F10's xDrive has a default front/rear torque split of 40/60 percent. During cornering, it moves to a 20/80-percent split to counter the understeer. It is very close to RWD feel during cornering.

Like I said, I've got an E60, so it's a little different. But mine sticks like crazy. In less layman's terms, it has a neutral bias when it comes to cornering. When you push hard into a corner, the car will go in neutrally, without any bias. If you late-brake and carry a little too much speed, it will slightly understeer - not so much that it would lose traction at any of the wheels, but enough to let you know that you need to floor it early in mid-apex. When you push down the go pedal at the cusp of the turn, the car carries through neutrally. If you carry way too much speed, it would under- and overstreer equally - i.e. neutral bias. In my experience with this car, the way it sticks in corners is like nothing else. When I did it on some closed circuits with several friends in the car - and mind you, since I had people in the car, I went only at about 8/10ths, not 12/10th all out, as I'd do when I'm alone - they were stunned. IMHO E60 platform still kicks ass of the F10 platform when it comes to this kind of driving. Unfortunately, they are somewhat "underpowered" compared to the F10's and lack the modern electronics.

Also, I would imagine that F10, relative to E60, would lean more in turns, causing more tire and body roll, resulting in slower max speed through corners. But F10's smarter torque transferring systems, and rear-wheel bias of the X-drive, combined with the adaptive drive (ARS did not come on Xi E60's), has some serious potential. Remember also, my car has a 6 cylinder engine - V8 is heavier and will cause more weight distribution to the front = more understeer.

Hope this helps. Honestly, I hate understeer - to me, that's the absolute worst quality of any car's handling. It's the reason I've switched from Audi to BMW in the first place. I'm not a huge fan of oversteer either, but at least it's more fun
