More info-f10_ams.jpg
AutoMotor&Sport has an article of the new F10 and the magazine hasn?t reached the newspaperstand yet. So this is the only picture I was able to insert in this forum at the moment.
But I can tell you that the pictures (based on spyphotos) are really nice. Especially the rear end is great
Almost looks like a coup? !
And the touring also looks great !

Here are some facts from the article:
It will first be shown at the Frankfurt-show this fall. Probably will not reach the market before 2011 year model in 2010.
The design will be more slender than the E60.
The wheelbase will grow with around 10 cm but the length will only grow by 2 cm. Despite the somewhat bigger size the weight will probably be the same or even lower due to aluminium, magnesium and other lightweight materials and composites.
There will be a multilink construction instead of the old stiff one.
The I-drive system will be more Audilike with more knops and rolls for an easier function.
More like the one in the new 7-series.
All the new technical ecuipment from the new 7 will be there. Like smart headlamps, fatigue warning system, wobble warning system, distance keeper with automatic correction and so on. (Sorry for the bad transaltion )
And a new ecuipment, an around warning system like the Infinitis "around wiew monitor"
The rear wheels will have the same "steering" as the 7. Electronically controlled as a complement to the front active steering.

The V10 engine-beast in M5 will probably say bye bye as the V8 twinturbo gets the same performance.
A 2 liters twinturbo will probably be offered in the ordinary F10 together with a new generation bigger twinturbos.
540i will get a 3 liter twinturbo engine and the 550i a softer version of the 4,4 liter turbo engine that will be avaliable in the M5.
The most interesting information is that the F10 will be offered with an electrical hybrid engine soon after launch.
X-drive will be avaliable in more versions of the F10.
There will also be a 8-shift automatic gearbox.

And there will not be a "bangle butt" any more

Yep I did read this article, especially the Touring looks worth waiting for, promising.....

And you will be able to order your F10/11 with a manual transmission, BMW will still take care of the enthusiasts.(not my opnion, it says so in the article)

For now I still prefer the E60 but felt the same about about the E39 vs. E60 when it first showed it's face, so time shall tell.
