The benefit is that if you bought the car, your monthly payment would be a lot higher unless you put huge money down.

Ok. So now what is the selling, price, mf and residual value? And wbat is the "inception". -- how much and what are its compotnents. And what are the "fees". BMW dealers are aloowed to make up the mf and the bank fee and, obviously, they are discretion on the selling price. I do not believe that they can play with the residual value.
Remembern never negotiate a lease based on monthly payment. You negotiate a lease with its component parts given that the monthly payment is the product of all of those parts.
I would be shocked if BMW had trunk money for the F10. Trunk money is used to liquidate unwanted inventory (ie, expiring and poorly selling models or leftovers from the prior model year).

Also if you own your own business leasing has huge advantages for tax writeoffs vs. buying. It depends on priorities as well. If you turn over your car usually every 2-3 years and like to drive a new car leasing is a better option, but if you plan on owning for the long term buying is the obvious choice. I do both, but only because I have access to Manheim auction. I personally would never buy new. I lease my 335, but I had the opportunity to purchase my M at a great price and was part of a barter so I bought that. I like having a new car every 2-3 years and just accept the car payment as a permanent fixture in my budget like cable or heat and I own my own business so it makes no sense for me not to lease when the majority of the payment is a writeoff.

To be the first to have the new toy you have to pay. Trunk money usually comes out in the Jan - Mar time frame or model closeout. While the initial numbers are good relative to past history they are still high by that same history.

This thread is somewhat misleading. For one the taxes and fees vary significantly from state to state on lease deals. The best way to analyze any lease deal is to first look at dollars over BMW Wholesale Pricing. Then look at the money factor. One needs to do the math personally to check the lease math.
