Well, theres a bunch of new information here --> http://www.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=144145
Synopsis is that the car will look similar to those concept drawings that were out a while ago that shows big kidney grills and led 'eyebrows' to the lights and less 'flame surfacing' then the current car. No more aunt edna I'm guessing..
The car in those pics does look good even with the spy camo thats on it.

I'm a bit confused. Edmunds.com (and others) say the new 5 series will arrive in '08 as an '09 model. This site seems to say the new 5 will arrive in 2010. Is BMW updating the current E60 in 2008 ('09) and then replacing the car with the F10 in 2010?

The F10 is likely to debut at the Geneva Auto Show in the Spring of 2010, with orders allowed by July 1 and production begining Sep 1, 2010.
The E60 was just refreshed (lifecycle impulse LCI on the 2008 model year), so don't expect any significant changes for 2009 or 2010. However, we typically see some nice sport package deals and special colors available in the final model year - so there may be some interesting twists to the E60 during its final two years of production.

The consensus is that the F10 5 series will launch sometime in 2010 as a 2011 model year. This would keep the 5er on a traditional 7-year model cycle.
