OK guys - I am stumped. I have a small square icon left of my date display in the instrument cluster that displays a "1" inside of the square. Along the top side of the square, there are three little items that could be representing a spiral binding like a note pad. I have looked through the owner's manual with no luck. Can someone help me out with this? What is this indicating? Thanks.

Here is a photo. The icon to which I refer is just left of the date. Thanks.

I think it means that you have an unread message in the system.

Date shouldn't require a ''calendar symbol'' to tell usit's the date. The time doesn't have a clock symbol beside it! Is there a diary fucntion on the F10? ( for notes, important dates, meetings etc? )

I first thought that it may be a message symbol; however I had no BMW system messages and no messages in the linked Bluetooth phone. Still lookin for a definitive answer - guess I will check with my BMW dealer next week.

I have that too and I don't know why. Maybe it shows months from car birth?

A bit to right and higher up, under the rpm tacho I have three clover light right after the start.
In a minute or so it changes the l/100 km light (but a bit to the right).
Need to take a pic of what I mean.

Perhaps you are correct - I took delivery on August 13. The car was completed about 2 to 3 weeks prior. I will watch the icon to see if the numeral inside the square changes. Anyone else have any information?

Thanks again for the reply.

Went to my car and took a couple of pics of the instruments.

Now I'n pretty sure that the "1" in the box is only a symbol and the three "clovers" or what ever are "stars" for economical driving. And I suppose three stars in the best you can get, since I have been broken in my car.
