I think the 18" are fine and also the ideal size for winter tires on the F10. I have my 18" Rial Como wheels and Dunlop WinterSport 3D's installed right now and they look pretty good. The 17"s are too small and also might scrape the brake calipers. The 19"s are just too big to be effective in the snow.

As you can see in my signature I also have 18" winters. But they look very small and on a
M Sport they will look even smaller. Why order the M Sport if not for the looks?

The 19" wheels can also be ordered with 245 tires, it's the width not the profile that matters in winter tires.

You're forgetting what potholes do to tires/rims in winter. Where I live, 19" wheels in the winter wouldn't last a month!

Exactly! We have potholes galore in Chicago, too. There is absolutely no need to spend extra $$$ on 19" wheels for winter driving...and all the hazards that come with it.

BTW, here are my 18" Rial Como's and Dunlop Winter Sport 3D's installed:

Dude...I know what the wheels look like (and really don't care what the sidewall of the tires look like close up.)

Post a pic of the CAR with the wheels and tires visible so we get a feel for what the setup actually looks like on the car!
