It cracks me up to see how they go to such trouble to conceal the car and even to make the taillights look something like an older Lexus GS!!

Funny how the pilot is waving in one. I like what I see, yet I would prefer to see some harder lines similar to E60 not so rounded. These "spyshots" are great for hype & Expectation purposes

I like it a lot. Great proportions that will grow old with grace. Still love the E39 whenever I see it on the street. Lovely, simple, classic and yet sporty shape. I think this will be similar.
The E60 is another thing - its like an alien on the streets, whenever I pass slowly by a shop window and I see the reflection my side marker LEDs in front and rear, and I think: wow, thats so f***ing cool, so different from anything else around me! and this s**t is 6 years old! And I hated it when it came out! I don't know how it is in the US, but here in Europe a lot of newer, cheaper cars are copying the headlights of the E60 - for example the VW Tiguan (a small SUV), or today I saw the new Renault Megane, whose front indicators have 90% the same shape as the E60. This car came out this year, it copies the E60's lights, and despite this it still cannot look so cool and so different as the BMW, let alone beat it. I would not call the E60 beautiful, its more like its uglyness makes it beautiful, if that makes sense.
I hope the F10 will be the best of both worlds - E39 and E60. This will depend on the front and rear, the stuff in the midlle we've seen already.

It took me 1 or 2 years to get used to it. In 2007 I ordered the car I thought I would never like. Now I think it's brilliant for the reasons you mention.
New cars that look modern and stylish instantly usually don't last that long.
I'm affraid that the F10 will not be as controversial as the E60 was when it was introduced. But it's probably a smart and safe move of BMW to make a "small F01" that's just an evolution and a bit conservative. It will sell better.

I always used to complain that the 535i didn't come with true dual exhaust tips and one on the left and right of the car. I see this picture, and it makes the car look like shit. Quads? Ok. But not this 335i crap.
