My Ride: 2011 BMW 550i; Dark Graphite Metalliic/Oyster, 4.4 TT V8, 8-sp AT, Sports Package, Dynamic Handling, Premium Package 2, Cold Weather Package, HUD
Absolutely beautiful design!...arguably the best design in my opinion from BMW since the long-departed 8 series.
From certain angles in the front, it looks almost as good as the sexy Aston Martin Rapide!

Apologies to Petes550i. Rudy is correct about the mismatched photo. The Chicago Tribune story probably meant the xDrive version F10 sedan.
"The new BMW 5 Series sales continues to perform at high levels. In November, 5 Series sales rose 58 percent to 5,042. BMW?s all-wheel drive version of the sedan, released in October, improved the company?s sales by about 2,000 units, said Jim O?Donnell for Bloomberg."

I have to wonder if the article posted a photo of the 5GT in error. I find it hard to believe that the GT is selling so well (and we know the non-GT is selling well...)
If they really did mean the GT, then the reason they're only on the dealer's lot for 9 days is that there are so few on dealer lots that a small number of people are grabbing them as soon as they can find one...

I don't doubt the sales figures but I just simply haven't seen many on the road in the Washington, DC area - and trust me when I say I've been looking. I can recall seeing only one GT, one 550i and one new 5 (not sure which engine) in white with the M-Sport package leaving the dealer as I was arriving. I still see tons of e60 5 series but not the F10. Same story with the new 7. A friend of mine has one and I think I've seen only one other. I personally think the car is gorgeous and can't believe I'm not seeing them on the road. Oh well, I just bought a 550 xDrive today so I guess there will be four in the DC burbs when it arrives.

Oops, my bad, folks. Yes, it's the GT 535xi, not the F10 535xi. (Although, I have a good feeling the F10 is on its way to becoming one of the sellers for BMW if the recent sales numbers are any indication).
