12 months ... can't wait.

Agreed ... the 6er looks lame.

The most interesting item is the M5 engine: 4.8L V8 - no turbos?

I think that is a mistake. It should have twin turbos

Nope, that's all I got up there.

It was interesting to read how they talk about the inside of the F10, that it feels like the ghost of the 7 series is inside of it in terms of space. Also it gets a panorama sunroof and the M5 gets an 8-speed DSG.

Nice!!!! The M5 should have biturbo. Unless my sources are wrong, but I don't think so.

I would be very surprised if 5er or 6er actually look like this.
Both are extremely unpleasant to look at. I guess I'll be keeping my cars then.

could be! maybe it is the end of the M aspirated

comes from that page:

".... Both models are powered by a newly-developed 4.4-liter V8 M engine delivering 555 hp at 6,000 rpm and 500 lb-ft of torque from 1500 to 5,650 rpm. This new M engine is the world's first with a pulse-tuned exhaust manifold encompassing both rows of cylinders combined with high-performance twin-scroll twin turbo technology...."

that is a 4.4 liter V8 M engine 555hp / 500 tq!

it does not say any about 4.8.....

The article (which is made up of info given to the magazine direct from BMW) doesn't say whether the 4.8 is turbocharged. It does have this phrase in it "Das doppelt aufgeladene direkt einspritzende". The direkt einspritzende means "direct injection", but I'm wondering what the doppelt aufgeladene means. I know doppelt is "double" and aufgeladen means to load something up, so it's entirely possible (please someone with better German than me confirm) that this means biturbo.

If this is a normally aspirated 4.8 liter, then using the just-above-100PS-per-liter that the M boys managed on the E36 and E46 M3's and the E39 and E60 M5's, then 550PS is easily possible. On the other hand, if it is turbocharged, then why would the 4.4Liter manage 555PS and the 4.8Liter only get 550PS. So it's seeming unlikely that it's turbocharged.

Strange that they are making the 3L Turbo a 540 instead of a 535 as it is now..

Why? Their numbering system has for the last few years represented the horsepower expectation rather than the engine size.
