I'd be more interested an explanation for the roof. Seemed to be a fairly straight forward collision on the left side but why is the roof caved in? Some mention firefighters cutting to rescue occupants but doesn't look cut to me. Curious...

perhaps the car went under something like a truck...thereby escaping any hood damage...
