I've been in the new car market for the last few weeks. Drove the F10 twice, trying to get comfortable with it, but with no luck. Then, a funny thing happened - my lease expired and I had to make a decision. My choices were F10 550i; M-B E550; or drive a beater and wait for the new A6 and GS460 to see what they were like. Went to the dealer one last time to drive the F10, and did the deal! see attached pic. It is a much different car than the E60, but very nice for sure and I have no regrets whatsoever. Blows the M-B away.E60-550i to F10-550i-dsc_0187.jpg

Congrats....but I'm curious, what happened at that last visit that made you decide to go with the F10? You mentioned that at prior visits, you couldn't get comfortable with it. Did the dealer give you a price you couldn't refuse?

Took me that long to realize how nice the car is. Prior, I was angry at the aesthetics - liked my e60 m-sport style better. Price seemed right too, 36 month lease at <$1K/mo (I paid taxes and tags out of pocket), I thought it was a good deal.
Car has: Sport, Premium 2, Cold Waether, Active Seats, SmartPhone, split fold down seats.

Its sports styling by Tupperware!

Joking aside (as a 520d driver) it's fine on a 550 but a 520d Msport? What must people be thinking to order one, especially if they add the flappy paddles.

As for me I ordered the car to be a nice big, all grown up - corporate cruiser. It fit's better in the office carpark.

Your's looks fine!!

While I believe the BMW is a few tenths quicker 0-60 than the M-B, I was speaking about ergonomics, which admittedly is subjective...

I think the new MB E550 is going to be very interesting. It's going to have the new 420+hp/500+ torque V8 engine which should make it quicker than the 550i.
