Maybe a re-post but really a helpful contrast. That new Benz is just plain fugly compared to the new F10. So much incongruence, I just don't get it. IMO they are destined to be selling off the car's MB nameplate for the next few years. An E63 AMG looks good as much for what we all know is under the hood (as well as that raucous exhaust note) as for the fundamental design - no offense intended.
The new F10 reminds me of the tidyness of the E34 styling even more so than that of the E39, which got quite a few jeers when first introduced (but was quickly accepted.) It is a great looking design, even though clearly conservative.
Me? I'm going to miss the availability of a naturally aspirated V8 available with a manual transmission. I think the E60 550i is going to be the last we ever see, but still think the F10 is going to be a huge success.

My Ride: Car
Interesting topic. I agree that the E60 has lines and a style that keeps it current looking, however, the more I check out the F10 the more interested I grow. As for the new E, my wife wanted one late last summer when I was looking to replace my 07 E60. We ended up going with a 2010 E60 and never regretted the decision. My boss picked up a new E350 this past weekend, fully loaded with the sport package. He let me take it for a spin and it definitely didn't have the feel and response of my 535. I felt so disconnected from the road in the E. I'm not knocking it, its a great car, just not for me. We'll definitely be giving the F10 some consideration in the coming year or two.
