Does anyone know what would make the CEL come on overnight? Everything seemed fine the night before.

 

It could be literally anything. You need to have the car scanned for codes. To be sure, you only care about the CEL on while the engine is also running, the CEL is required to turn on when the key is on but the engine has not been started yet.
