Default Can you retrofit a wifi adapter into the CIC?

I posted this in the e60 section, but given Ive done a full CIC retrofit, I essentially have an F10 entertainment system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So Ive fairly well teched out my car.
Its a 2004 545i, but has the full CIC Nav Combox upgrade, making it essentially a 2012. All of which I love.

Recently now Ive put my own personal hotspot in the car, using the power source in the glove compartment to power a portable router & a Verizon 4G dongle.
Love this too.

To run the CIC integration I have an iphone 4 with no cellular data (killed the plan) & running wifi. With the router set up, I now have a great experience with BMW apps I want:

Stitcher, MOG, Pandora all rock. The BMW canned apps from their own app are there as well and just ok.

My question is:
Is there a way to get the wifi from my router to feed the CIC directly? A retrofit for a wifi adapter?
Currently the CIC is supposed to get its data connection through the iphone I have attached using hotspot/tethering activated. BUT since I dont have cellular anymore I cant do that. Ive looked into it extensively, and even if jailbroken, the iphone cannot both recieve & share the wifi signal (even in USB mode).

Anyone smart enough to know if there is another way to pipe my wifi directly into the CIC?

There is a way to get the CIC to use the Ethernet connection. So from there you put that into a 4G router or similar and thats how you do it.

That is cool. Going to take a bit of work to cut it up, but very cool.

The travel router I have in the glovebox has 4 ports, so this should be fairly straight forward.

To Follow Up:

I learned of a jailbreak ipod app called MyWi which allows you to share a wifi data connection through your ipod. Im going to try this first (using tether) to see if that gets the job done.

Im hoping it works & I dont have to cut anything. Will be checking in later...
