BMW 535 or INFINITI M or LEXUS GS

If you ever decide to go with the Infiniti, I suggest you to test drive it for an extended amount of time. The 7spd auto transmission acts weird sometimes. I am talking from my personal experience with the 7AT in my '09 G37. Although I've heard less complains on the M37, here are a few things you should be looking at:
1. Jerky downshift in stop and go traffic.
2. Hesitation when you drive around 50-60, then slow down to 40, then try to accelerate. This is probably the most annoying thing.
3. The transmission seems to be confused what gear to pick. This is hard to explain but the more you drive the more you'll see.
They did software updates on mine 2 times and the transmission is better now, but still not as smooth and responsive as the one in my 528.
Again, I'd wait and see the new GS350 in person. But if I had to buy right now, the BMW would have my vote.

I was just pointing out that equally priced, the Audi was a better buy. I actually drove the 535 yesterday, and the turbo-lag didn't impress.

I don't see it that way - Infiniti has some very good engines. Where they fall down compared to BMW is in the ride quality. Their engineers haven't worked out that the ride doesn't have to be punishingly hard to be sporty. This is something BMW generally does very well.

CAFE Standard in the US is 54.5 MPG by 2025. Get used to it, Gentlemen. The days of large engines are coming to a rapid end. In another 5 years the N20 will be the high powered motor and you'll be complaining about a 2 or 3 cyl not having enough power.
