Guys,

I am in the market for a 2011 550 and wanted to check if there is a specific option I need to look for in regards to streaming music to my i-drive via bluetooth. Is that a standard option in the 2011 F10??

Don't hold me to it 100% (it's been a while) but I think you need to have option 639 (BMW Assist with Extended Bluetooth) and have a production date of September 2010 or later.

Take a look here:

I also just found the following thread that suggests the option may not have been ready for the early September 2010 builds:

I think you mean 09/10 when the Combox was introduced. My 2011, built 10/10 with the Combox, has Bluetooth Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP).

By Bluetooth technology your laptop can send print request to a printer in your next room. Bluetooth is actually a standard for wireless communication between the devices in a relatively small area and it is therefore works fine in the personal area network (pan) using radio frequency.
