Maybe stating the obvious but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I didn't realize until the other day that the 528i now comes with a 2.0L (4 cylinder) turbo charged engine. I know the 535i and 550i's are both turbocharged and the new M5 is turocharged as well. I guess BMW has decided they love them some turbochargers. Kind of just thinking out loud so I can get corrected if I am off base.

Nope, well at least in Europe they still carry the 530i which has a slightly updated 272hp version of the familiar R6/I6.
Everything else is turbo'd.

BMW can't help it. With the new regulations changing every few years, they can't keep the big engines... gotta go small and that means turbocharging.... It's all about gas mileage these days I suppose.

Of course, I hate it and got the last 6-cylinder 523i available locally a month or so ago...

Don't get me wrong I like turbo BMW's but I prefer the silky smooth I6 engines. Glad I have one of the last I6 engines BMW ever made.

I guess you got it right.

I'm an (old) lover of V8's and L6's,
but for some odd reason also of our planet...

I think those aren't necessary mutually exclusive...
