That only means that xDrive is expected to have 4.6 s.

Did you test drive 550i xDrive with M-sport package?
I drove both cars and did not notice any performance degradation on xDrive.
But I liked the 550i xDrive steering better.

The X-Drive model weighs more than the RWD model. I highly doubt it will be faster. (Just as with the 335i, the RWD model is faster than the X-Drive). In any case, there are no official published test results for the 550xi in the US so who knows. Also, the X-Drive models come with all-season tires, so grip and handling will be degraded a little bit.

In terms of what the M-sport package includes and does not include, it is very much market-dependent and so it would be helpful to know where the OP resides. fwiw, in the US, you can get everything in an F10 xDrive model except performance tires and active steering.
I live in the U.S. (Washington, DC area). I was able to stop by the dealer today and agree about the ride height. Though I didn't have anything with which to take truly accurate measurements, I was able to compare the ride heights and wheel well gaps using a pen and they appeared to be identical/nearly identical. The gaps are a little large for my taste but they appear to be the same between the xi and non xi versions - certainly not a deal breaker. As I pulled into the lot there was a white 550xi M-Sport leaving and it looked spectacular.

There aren't any options I want that are precluded by getting the xi. I hadn't considered the wheels not being staggered.

I would get the 550i X-drive in a heart beat. I own a XI right now and love how I can just pile through the snow. I agree the XI sits a bit high, but haven't seen the F10 x-drive yet. Regardless, I would say go for it!
