The difference is only 40hp and 40tq, but the f10 weighs over 500lbs more! Unless the f10 hp and tq numbers are way underrated the two should be very close. My 2 cents.
I think your numbers are off. The e60 550i is >3,940lbs and the F10 550i has 450tq. The F10 also has an 8 speed transmission versus the 6speed e60 which after you take all the numbers into account, the F10 should be a couple of 10ths faster than the e60.

I hope everyone understands that the Jeep wasn't even trying at the start. SRT/8 is a 4.5sec 0-60mph and 13.2sec 1/4 mile vehicle. There's no way a stock F10 with an open differential could pull away from an all wheel drive SRT/8. I just wanted to make everyone aware before they embarrass themselves against a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT/8. Now the F10 against the two wheel drive Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT/8 maybe a different story.

It really boils down to the driver. My friend just picked up a 2010 SRT8 and it has an on board meter to measure acceleration etc..and so far, the best he's managed is 4.9 to 60. Lots of people expect to match the acceleration times posted by magazines right off the bat but you'd be surprised how much practice it takes.

The launch is the key element to acceleration times. All wheel drives have a considerable advantage and that's why the Jeep SRT/8 is quicker than the Challenger and Charger despite it's weight disadvantage. Note that the quickest 0-60mph times are form all wheel drive vehicles like the 911 Turbo S and Nissan GT-R.

Why? The turbos have held up fine in the 5+ year old 335's. Fuel pump is another issue but the turbo units themselves has shown to be super reliable and strong, even with pumped up boost.
