Haven't seen any mention of this issue on this forum.

Monday, 1/3 I ordered 535ix, the last day of the holiday bonus incentive. CA told me a/o Jan 1 there is a $500 increase in the MSRP base price of 5 series models. 535ix base price showing up at $52400. We had already decided on a bottom line figure so he adjusted the numbers on the F10 and my e60 trade in to wind up at the same previously agreed upon price. So no harm, no foul. Still I wonder if he was blowing smoke at me making me feel good that he was doing me a favor or there really was a $500 price increase. Edmunds is still showing the base price at $51900.

Relying on Edmunds as the authoritative source of automotive information is like using Readers Digest as the authoritative source for medical treatment ... I'm glad your sales rep helped work through the price increase issue

Thanks for the link to the BMW website, showing MSRP at $52400. 535ix cars in dealer inventory have window stickers with $51900 base price. When did that $500 price increase occur?

Prices went up 1/1/11... Same increase across the board, much discussed on the M3 boards.

2.5% increase in the UK plus 2.5% tax increase. Ouch! My 530d M-Sport (awaiting delivery) with Nav Pro and Xenons lists at £50k - about the same as a fully loaded 550 in the US...

I used truecar. com to purchase mine. I offered PeterPan BMW in San Mateo $500 over their cost for the car and they went for it! I purchased mine the second week of december. I tried 3 different dealers. NielloBmw was willing to do 500 over but concord BMW only wanted to do 1500 over cost

sounds like you purchased before 1/1/2011...so the $500 increase does/did not effect you....
