Hello all, I have a 2011 550 XDrive with 900 miles. I noticed a low frequency "rumbling" sound coming from the front end while making low speed turns about 1 week after delivery. I have tried both the 19 inch Goodyear runflats as well as a set of Blizzak winter tires, same sound emanates. I have a call into the dealer, but before I go in I was hoping to hear from anyone else who has noticed this or not. This is my first BMW, and as such I have no basis of comparison. I don't recall hearing this on test drives.
Thanks in advance, I know how hard it is to diagnose noises! Eric 2011 550i XDrive, Sport Package, Premium Package 2, Black/Black/Dark wood, Cold weather package, Multi-contour seats, Nappa leather |
There is a thread at bimmerfest that may help you:

Thanks, just got the car back from the dealer...they were able to replicate the noise and went to BMW corporate for input. Ended up re-loading some of the software that runs the ARS (amongst other things). Apparently I had a faulty program/code. Seems to have worked, I haven't noticed the noise since I got it back. |
It seems amazing that a car needs 'rebooting' to sort out problems
My last Volvo needed the dealer to 'switch it off and switch it back on again' Remember spanners and sockets? |

It took some 2,000 km's to get rid of them. Brake in your F10's carfully! |
