Hello all, I have a 2011 550 XDrive with 900 miles. I noticed a low frequency "rumbling" sound coming from the front end while making low speed turns about 1 week after delivery. I have tried both the 19 inch Goodyear runflats as well as a set of Blizzak winter tires, same sound emanates. I have a call into the dealer, but before I go in I was hoping to hear from anyone else who has noticed this or not. This is my first BMW, and as such I have no basis of comparison. I don't recall hearing this on test drives.

Thanks in advance, I know how hard it is to diagnose noises!

Eric

There is a thread at bimmerfest that may help you:

I had this noise originally but it gradually disappeared after 1500 miles.

Thanks, just got the car back from the dealer...they were able to replicate the noise and went to BMW corporate for input. Ended up re-loading some of the software that runs the ARS (amongst other things). Apparently I had a faulty program/code. Seems to have worked, I haven't noticed the noise since I got it back.

It seems amazing that a car needs 'rebooting' to sort out problems

My last Volvo needed the dealer to 'switch it off and switch it back on again'

Remember spanners and sockets?

I had some suspension and transmission problems in the beginning, too.
It took some 2,000 km's to get rid of them.

Brake in your F10's carfully!
