My Ride: BMW 520d F10 2011

Hi everyone, completely new here and not long had my first BMW.
The other day after some terrible weather I noticed two things. The boot right storage bin had collected a fair amount of water. I dried this out and sealed along an area above in the rain channel around the boot from rear window with tiger seal. I suspected the water was getting in from here but unfortunately it’s still happening. I suspect possibly the channel that runs along above the boot, looks like someone has previously used silicone that has slightly perished.
The other issue that was more annoying, my parking sensors stopped working suddenly. A warning alert tone and display as I put it into reverse saying they were inactive. I tried to feel and listen to each sensor but couldn’t hear or sense any clicking on any of them. Gave them a spray with wd40 also without any success.
Despite looking i have discovered there is no independent PDC module linking the sensors near the battery, I think they run through the junction box electronic JBE. Can anyone confirm and advise if there’s any pre checks I can do?
I’m abit of a novice with car maintenance especially BMWs, but willing to give a go.
Iv unscrewed the 2 nuts to access the battery under boot lining and had a brief look, also peeled back the right boot lining by the fusebox. Can see water is getting in and I need to stop this water for certain. Suspected it may have been linked to the parking sensor problems but maybe not.
any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Update: After a freezing day the sensors just worked again last night but again today back to being grey’ed out front & back and no warnings from PDC message again now.
