I think its nice looking, more conservative than the E60 for sure. It does have several interesting character lines starting at the hood that I'm not sure about. I do want to see the full vehicle before forming a final conclusion.
Unfortunately the pug nose is a fact of life with the European regulations. Why they think that is safer for pedestrians I have no clue.
I'll have mine with the 400hp TT V8.

I think it looks nice but abit conservative compared to E60
But..well..in the business side, i think BMW has put it in the right track
as E60 has been seen by some people (especially the target group e.g age 30+ or those who can afford a luxury car) as too "innovative".

But i think our E60 looks better

I have to concur with your synopsis. Doesn't look bad though! We'll have to see the final product, and then the mods to follow.

So far it is NOT winning me over from the e60.
That is all I can say.
I'll watch the unveil and maybe it will be different. But so far it looks like it is a toned down version of a 7 that tries too hard to be hip and run with the 3er crowd. Slap some "Juicy" pants on her and she'll be a regular Long Island MILF. Which is still hot, but it ain't what I'm looking for in a car - I want more originality and aggression. So here's another one for waiting for the "more aggressive" version...
PS if the "aggressive" version looks like the pic below, count me out
