That's great to hear it only takes 5 minutes. I think I may have an issue with mine, as I've been having issues lately with my comfort access... Great.

Has anyone checked why it is that in the bulletin above I posted it says to install foam only on cars produced UP TO Jan. 2008? Anyone opened up their spoiler in a 2009 or 2010 MY to see why? Are the foam blocks there by default from the factory (hoping)?

Not sure why they use the '08 deadline for applying foam parts, the diversity cover seems identical for example.
Anyways, it seems the dealers have found out in practice the need for spacers remains, they're quite proactive in these things nowadays I've found. Get the spacers regardless of MY I'd say...

Just some standard foam, or the part numbers referred to in the tech bulletin I posted?

When I had to replace my antenna amplifier I used a LOT of liquid plastic eletric laquer to make it waterproof. Then I used duct tape to seal the whole thing as well as possible.

Haven´t had problems since.

No idea, but it didn't look like standard foam as it was harder.

So if you thought the newer modules, with foam spacers, were not susceptible to water damage, think again!

Can you believe it, I've been having comfort access issues lately still, so out of a hunch, checked the bloody thing, and to my surprise, found rust on the thing!

So I now got a new one installed as of today again... Sheesh. Hope this is the last one, as warranty runs out in 5 months!

I have heard on some who had problems the dealer used silicone to extra seal the box. Myself I added extra foam on top of the one alread there.
One other possible cause is the cables with rubber seal going into the box are not well placed so the rubber doesn't close well enough.

The foam is there to press down the lid of the black plastic container, inside which is the module. The 5 pieces are strategically placed in theory to push down the edges. Not sure if it needs more foam, but I guess it wouldn't hurt.

When I opened up the black plastic box, there WAS silicone all around the edges, which means that even with that, it still is susceptible... :-(

They said they sealed it up real good this time. So I'm crossing my fingers. Was toying with putting the module inside in a ziploc bag too myself! But if moisture gets in, it might be worse, in that it might take longer to dry I figured...
