My Ride: e39 525i Touring, will order e61 as soon as I can decide on engine and options...
Hi,
a bit dizzy still, this car must be the best in the world. BUT;
When driving with open panoramic sunroof, at speed (80km/h and over) the air deflector does not deflect the air sufficiently, it flows in between the two glass panels and creates a wobbling sound.
Did anyone else experience this? How much and at what speed does your air deflector raise itself from the initial (opening of the roof) position?

Hi,
Yes, I have the same experience. But I had a Saab 95 SW before and the same story...
My air deflector raises whenI open the roof but it comes down at about 180 Km/h, probably forced by the wind motion
The wobbling sound is minor when you limit the opening to the intermediate position. (At BMW they call it the "comfort" position)
Here in Spain, you may have it opened many days, but I close it when reaching a motorway and going fast.
Kind regards from the sun

Yes, I guess you are right. I was just a bit confused due to the BMW sales language "speed dependant air deflector".
Its not really speed dependant but ignition dependant; when you switch on the ignition, it raises itself. That's it. And to be honest, I don't really understand why they connected it to the ignition, it could have been completely mechanic.
But, lets forget about that, enjoy the sun and smile!
