I have to admit, I try to recycle and put in those energy-saving bulbs, etc. But, when it comes to cars, I have a hard time being rational. I mean, the best I could do when I sold my 325, was finally conclude that a 530i was more than enough for my limited driving needs (four mile round trip commute to work). Otherwise, I would have gotten a 550. I can't see myself downgrading in the future.

Interested to hear your views on low emissions and whether it influences your choice of engine next time you buy a 5er.
The F10 523dA could well be my car next car.

The 2 liter diesel with two turbos will give some + 200 hp and some 450 Nm,
more than enough for me.

Even my current car is a really nice one, love this small diesel power plant.

The only way is up!

535d Touring will be my next vehicle.

Unless I find an E61 M5 in Titansilber...
Well spoken! Have the exact same idea. 535d or LCI530d if I stay in the tractor segment. Could I get rid of my job commute I'd go for a 545 or 550 no doubt. Don't think the almighty M will fit my budget unfortunately....

I have a 535d now so the next step has to be the M5. So in a couple of years i hope i have one of those. But in Norway the prices are crazy.

Have exactly the same "behavioural pattern". Nice to see I'm not alone!

I mean, I had a 118d and a 118i as loaners when my car was back for repair(s) and I realise how well sized that car was for my commuting needs. But selling a 5er for a 1-series...? No, I rather go on water and old bread for 3 years that give up this excellent machine!

I hope that this means that all of your "headaches" with your E61 are now a thing of the past.

I want performance - so when they start making low emission vehicles with high performance I would consider paying a little extra to get the low emission version.
