Hello all

I have tried to search and look, but without results, so;
What is this Hirschmannbox? (I thought for a while that it was the HIFI amp since I have two speakers under the frontseats)

And the bracket below, what is meant to be installed there? Logic 7

And the plastic room/box??

According to TIS, that box it the "video module for on-board monitor" which I think has something to do with the navigation system.

The empty slot below is used for the satellite radio compensator (which isn't available in Norway).

I cant' see the last thing very well but it looks like it's just the air vent that most cars have in the rear quarter panel area...

The logic 7 amp has a place reserved for it -- if you're doing factory upgrades, there will most likely always be a place (with the proper bracket) to install things...

Hopefully, someone with E61 who knows where this place is, can guide me in this upgrade process?! (And also with the speaker location.)

Here is how I'm planning the upgrade;
First I need to know the location, and to see if I allready got the small amp for the loudspeakers under the frontseats?
Then, hopefully there is a bracket and maybe a cable harness that fits from the old small amp..
If not, I have to visit a dealer in Denmark to do the complete upgrade.

Hi,
I got the E61 European version and if you opted for the HiFi system you should find the small ampli right behind the following panel on the same side you opened. You should be able to see it, this is the picture:

The bracket is the same and will work also for the logic 7 ampli. The problem I guess would be the MOST. The logic7 ampli works also with the optical cables and I don't know if the logic7 is retrofittable. You could check if behind the other panel, the one that covers the small ampli there's an extra loop of the cable I mentioned. There should be the a connector like this:

The N40 is the logic7 ampli and the circled one is the connector I'm talking about.
The main connector to the ampli is the same, I've checked, but of course, you should run all cables for all speakers because for the moment you have only the cables for the subs and that's it.
I mean, anything is impossible but at what cost? I think would be cheaper just take the signal that goes into the small ampli and just add an aftermarket system to work the subs under the seats and wiring the rear speakers if you want. There are a bunch of post regarding this, check them out.

I can confirm that the "N40a" in the diagram is the L7 amp. There is a bracket that should allow you to simply bolt it right on. (Notice that the video module (Hirschmann box) is visible in the diagram right behind the N40a text...)

I will open up some more panels this evening when my car returns from service.(upgrade of the ext. voice control to english, they said that they will not upgrade the CIP to the newest version 23.02 only due to the CD that keeps on playing

.ehh from time to time..)
Will post some pictures tonight -hopefully of the small amp, I mean there must be something there?! It cant be only the headunit that drives it all??

Yes, with the HiFi configuration the headunit drives the 8 speakers, 4 front 4 rear and the small amp drives the subs but with the Logic 7 the ampli receives the signal by MOST and the sub signal from the CCC and all speakers are wired to the ampli: 4 front, 1 central front, 4 rear, 2 rear in the doors, 2 subs. 13 speakers.

If you want I can send you the schemes of the Logic/ configuration.
