Default water temperature

Hi everybody, not wanting to appear thick but I can't find the temperature indicator on my 2008 E61. I do like to know if the temp is as it should be and there is no indication of this. Can anybody advise me?
thanks paneuro.

you'll get a warning message on iDrive telling you your engine is overheating and to stop now. If you ever get that warning, stop now.

yes, you can access it through KOMBI (gauge cluster). search on youtube, i remember seeing a video there once showing how to do it.

note: it looks like a total PITA if you have to go through that process every time you want to see water temp.

Sounds like a PITA to me as well, I've just spent about half an hour searching the instruction book trying to find how much oil it holds without success. I'm beginning to regret buying this car, i think there's more information available on cruise missiles!!! hacked OFF. paneuro

oil capacity is an easy question to answer. what year/model do you have?

Paneuro - the simplest way I've found is to purchase this from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and use the Torque app. On the Torque app is a water temperature gauge that will read the coolant temp in real time.
