washer jets
#1
I have a 525d E61 and have noticed the front washer jets have some issues, when I flick the washer jets and i get a squirt of windscreen wash but then it seems the pressure drops and the water dribbles out of the jets on the bonnet.
The rear washer does not seem to work correctly apart from water dribbling out of the rear high level brake trim almost like the rubber tube has been detached from the nozzle.
I'm guessing the front and rear are linked in some way and this has something to do with the loss of pressure at the front jets?
Any Ideas?
Cheers

Are there deposits in the jets?
I cannot see any deposits as such but have noticed the jets do not look like the normal nozzle type but are more like a black horizontal slit type.
what is the best way to clean/test them?
Many Thanks

I had the same problem with rear window washer, the hose had popped off the jet during the freezing weather
Takes 10 mins to fix, you just open the rear window and remove the rear spolier to access the pipe and reconnect it.

After turning the wheel all the way to the left and peeling back the wheel arch liner the all 3 pumps are easily accessible.
The first pump was the Xenon headlight washer pump, black plastic and is noticeably larger than the rest and uses a slightly different filter grommet (all-in-one rubber mesh)
The second pump was the rear wash wipe pump, black plastic with separate grommet and detachable white plastic filter.
The third pump was the windscreen wash pump, grey plastic with separate grommet and detachable white plastic filter.
All were gunked up but the windscreen filter was almost completely blocked hence the poor flow of windscreen wash.
I removed all pumped by pulling them up out of their clip housings and used the garden hose to flush out the 5L reservoir.
I then cleaned all the filters and re-inserted them all back in and now it works perfectly.
Thanks for all your help!
