One thing I don't seem to see... the rarest of rare: fully-optioned manual transmission E61 wagon. Of those 125 stated to arrive with "three pedals" (apaisncsu^), how many were ordered with desirable options (besides the manual)? They're not the "loaded" manufacturer spec cars forced onto dealers, which pushed the MSRP up.
I wonder if northeastern and northern midwest dealers routinely order manual transmission cars with limited options knowing their buyers would opt for them. Were all of the 125 spec'd by end buyers?
I'm afraid that the age of our wagons are such that we may never know who actually ordered them, purchaser or dealer. Many of the current owners are likely the 3rd or 4th owners and the history of the car is likely lost with time. The VIN will tell us how the car is equipped, but not who actually spec'd it out.
Here north of the 49th we have a grand total of only 32 E61 LCI ’08-’10 manuals in the entire country. Yes, that's right, 32 manual units in the entire country
I lucked into finding one that I regard as being very well equipped. Given how rare the car is, I'm delighted to have found a car that makes me smile every time I walk into my garage.

My Ride: 2010 e61 535xi 6MT, 1999 e36/8 M Coupe
Model Year: 2010, 1999
Engine: N54, S52
I am the 2nd owner of my 2010 e61 6MT. The original owner special ordered the car in October 2009 with almost every option available. He was an eye surgeon in the greater Miami area, so I expect the $76k cost didnt mean much to him (wish he had ordered the M Sport package though). Since my e61 has so many options, I get to see how less common some of the options are (as E61FUN points out) when an e61 is posted FS and I run the VIN. What is also important to note is that of the three years when an e61 could be built with an N54, only the last year (2010) models were built with the CIC system.

When I was living on the West Coast, I luckily found a MT Volvo V70R right down the block but when I upgraded, had to get my B7 MT A4 Avant shipped from Boston.

Judging from the carfax, the previous owner put about 45k miles on it in 2 years. whoever owned it liked to drive.
It was traded into a subaru dealership in MA or CT and then Coventry Motorcars purchased it. The car needed wastegate bushings and they were repaired as well as brakes and tires. The hatch wiring needs fixed and we're thinking that must have been a big reason for it being traded in because keyless entry doesnt work. besides that it has everything an enthusiast could want in this thing! We may have overpaid at 15k out the door with 127k miles, but if its true theres less than 200 of these floating around the US then we needed to jump on this.

Good times for those looking in the Toronto / Montreal area. As of tonight, there are 3, count'em, 3 MANUAL E61's for sale on Autotrader.ca.
All of them worth a look. Good luck to those who are shopping !
